Girls’ Day at UD CHEMIE GmbH, UD Blendings Productions GmbH & BioThek GmbH

Under the patronage of the Chancellor, Angela Merkel, the nationwide Girls’ Day took place for the tenth time. At UD CHEMIE too Hannah, Rabea, Liv and Mina from year 10 at the IGS Wörrstadt and the grammar school in Nieder-Olm had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the company.

After a friendly greeting, introduction and explanation of the daily routine by the manager responsible for purchase & sales and staffing, Frank M. Dubberke a closer look was taken in the Group meeting room at the company operations. The manager responsible for purchase & sales, finance, administration and marketing, Anke Dubberke, led her four charges through the various departments in the administration building and explained the respective spheres of activities. Afterwards, the girls looked with interest at the Group’s film clips and company reports. Then they went out to explore the warehouses and production facilities of Bio Thek, UD Blendings and UD CHEMIE. There Hannah, Rabea, Liv und Mina learned from the general production manager, Jürgen Ganter, and the general manager for raw materials, warehousing and logistics, Matthias Wruck, how for example UDAL® buffer acids are produced, and using combined Girls Power, they even diligently set about producing 25kg bags of UDAMIL ®. “Can I start tomorrow? It is much more interesting than school”, the girls said finally and were delighted to receive the Lecker`s plastic bags, which they could take home on leaving.
